Capercaillie，来自苏格兰的一支CelticMusic乐队，他们喜欢用本民族的盖尔语演唱那些古老的歌。他们的音乐融合了传统民间音乐和现代流行音乐元素，使那些从历史上就流传下来的古老音乐有着更多的生命力。
乐队成立于上个世纪80年代早期，最早的成员有歌手KarenMatheson（她是苏格兰著名女歌手ElizabethMacNeill的孙女，也曾经是一支民谣乐队theEtives的成员）和键盘手DonaldShaw，他们在同一所中学认识。然后乐队又陆续加入许多成员，包括宝丝蓝鼓（bodhran）手MarcDuff、吉他手JoanMacLachlan、布祖基琴（bouzouki）手ShaunCraig、贝斯和小提琴手MartinMacLeod等。之后的Capercaillie几经人员变动，自始至终参与乐队的成员只有atheson、Shaw和Duff。1991年，英国小提琴手CharlieMacNeill加入乐队，这时候他们的第二张专辑Crosswind出版了。又是一张颇受好评的专辑！Capercaillie也因此展开了第一次美国巡演。在Crosswind出版之前他们已经在本土得到承认，一部关于苏格兰盖尔人历史英雄的电视片TheBloodIsStrong找到他们做了Soundtrack。
